Senior Minister - Bob Braman

     Dr. Bob is a native of Michigan. He and his wife Betty, who treasure their three sons and three grandchildren, have also lived in Oklahoma, New Jersey, and most recently, Florida. He received his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Drew University. His great loves of ministry are worship, teaching, and pastoral care.

          One of the greatest challenges is seeking ways to understand
          and communicate God's relevance for our lives, a God who
          communicates  with us through Scripture, our daily
          experiences, our rational minds, and tradition.  It is a delightful
          challenge. Come engage it with us!

 Associate Minister - Karen Potter

     Karen Potter is the newest addition to the staff at the First Congregational Church in St. Joe. Karen graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, where she completed her Masters of Divinity degree in preparation for full-time ministry. She earned a bachelors degree in Biblical literature and Christian educational ministries at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. Karen has many years of varied experience in children’s, youth, and pastoral care ministries. This includes three years as a church youth director while in graduate school. Karen is eager to begin her new ministry at the First Congregational Church and to become part of the community in St. Joseph.

Parish Nurse - Carolyn Abbott

     Nurse Carolyn began her nursing career in Battle Creek, MI.  Her 38 years of nursing experience has been in Medical-Surgical, Home Care, and Outpatient and same-day Surgery.  She and her husband Mark moved to St. Joseph in 1994.  They have two adult daughters, and two grandsons.

     Carolyn has been the Parish Nurse since 1998.

          Life can be full of God's rewards.  All one has to do is listen,
          and God will guide you.  Come share with us, and learn God's
          words to you along the way  .

Office Administrator - Judy Hoffman

     Judy joined the staff of First Congregational Church UCC in 1990 as bookkeeper.  She became the Office Manager in 1995.  This position has been a daily journey with God each day

          If you will only heed his every commandment that I am commanding
          you today, loving the Lord your God and serving him with all your
          heart and with all your soul (Deut. 11:13 NRSV)

Bookkeeper - Debbie Wood

     Debbie has been a member of the congregation since 1978.  She joined the staff in 1989 as the Christian Education coordinator.  She became the bookkeeper in 1995.

     Debbie and her husband have four children, one daughter living in Seattle with her husband and two children, one son working locally in St. Joseph, and two daughters studying at Grand Valley State University.

Custodian - Keith Thomas

     Keith has been the custodian at First Congregational Church for eight years.  He has a wonderful wife, and five children.  In their spare time, they like to camp and enjoy many sports.  All of their children are very involved in sports!  This fall, their eldest will be heading off to college!
